Simplicity of Life

What is your definition of being successful?

Rewarding career...?
Plentiful of cash...?
Luxury living...?

While I was concentrating hard on earning that extra bucks and living standard, he said, "my success is where I can have a well-balance lifestyle, full of happiness, just between me and you."

THAT IS SO SWEET. and it's not for the sake of "words of wisdom". he really meant it.

In fact, he had me pondered over it and come to a consensus. Life is full of expectations; if you could eliminate them, only then can you appreciate the simplicity of life.

Awesome. Since my life is mostly full of "downs" in the roller coaster ride, I'm really thankful that I have chosen a life partner that guides me in life. While it takes a shorter time for some to reach their goals in life, I can now accept the fact that it may take longer for me to reach mine.

Que sera sera

Insyaallah, insyaallah...

writing these in Malay...

"Mudah mudahan Tuhan akan murahkan lah rezeki hamba mu ini. Insyallah insyaallah..."

Off to another issue, there seems to be a chaos going on abt this particular skincare I'm using. Quite skeptical now and luckily, I have stopped using it for some time now as my skin has totally turn too white. LOL. Just curious and waiting for updates from HSA.

Hmmmmm.....

Honeymoon Oh Honeymoon!

It's early Monday and 2.5 hours have passed since 9am.

And yet, I have not done any single work since arriving to the office! LOL. The excitement of honeymoon planning since yesterday continues till today, with the convenient of fast-speed internet in the office makes it even more efficient!

We have thought of several places but nothing has been firmed yet. I can imagine myself basking in the sun, sand and sea, with intermittent travelling to the city for leisure and shopping, admiring the bustling city while sipping on the hot chocolate.... (dreamy dreamy)...

And when the night comes to life, the romance sparks in with candlelit dinner, cruising down the streets of the busy nightlife and so on....

And at the very last minute last night, I have discovered a perfect place for this! The beach, the extravagant lifestyle, the shopping, the dining, and the culture makes a perfect package for honeymooner or so I thought <grins>.

A step away to complete our budget checklist and decide if it is indeed within our means...

Mid-Life Crisis on its Toll

LOL. Exactly what I am feeling right now. I call it a mid-life crisis.

Job, job, job. I envy those (of course aside to those patriotic business owners) loves their job and look forward to going to work every single day. It's not that I hate mine. I love it. Wait... in fact, I have a hate-love relationship with my job. It's not as glamourous as those Marketing Professionals handling Heneiken advertisement nor those, in Samsung or Apple, but it is interesting to a certain extent with all the jets and aircraft that I can chance upon which are not part of an average person daily lifestyle. However, the job scope is just not satisfying my career craves, not really in monetary terms but more of the skill set that I wish to acquire. Sitting on the chair and waiting for heads-up is not exactly what I am looking for, and I can rant on and on about it...

Too many people want to live victorious lives, but they don’t want to put up with the battles. - Peter Ng, motivational trainer.

Yes, yes yes. Ok. Motivational quote indeed but some do not just have the opportunity. After job-hunting for several months, went for countless interview, and sent ridiculously amount of resumes, I can conclude that the job market is not lucrative right now. The wise man says, be fortunate that you are employed compared to those who aren't. But on the other hand, you must compare yourself with someone better off than worst off in order to be a better person right?

Nevertheless, at least with all the interview and job offers, I understand my market value out there. Hopefully, I will be able to get out of this mid-life crisis soon.

Ranting while at work. LOL.

A Wedding of Two?

Of course there is the BRIDE & GROOM in a wedding. Yet, many may not realise that there are more to it before an actual wedding takes place.

Forget about the dollars & cents... In Singapore, that is the obvious issue everyone is facing due to the high cost of living here...

A little bit more insight is to social problems -- family issues. Can the in-laws from both sides get along? I believe not every families can get along well. That is understandable considering the way individuals live their life differently since young. Would there be a way to conquer in an amicable way? What if both sides refuse to give in? For Malays, we call it "dugaan", a test from God.

Looking at it simply, shouldn't a wedding be all about you and your partner? After all, you are marrying him/her and not their mother/father? Easier said than done because human has the most influencing power than anything else.

What would you if there are disagreements between in-laws with regards to wedding preparations/arrangements?

A New Year, A New Beginning

This is probably the most commonly used yearly statement: A New Year, A New Beginning

Despite its simplicity, it probably helps to describe what the majority feels. Including me too. As the new year sets in, everyone starts making their new year resolution, in the hope of a better year ahead. Oh well, year 2012 had certainly been interesting, especially with the senseless rumours that the world would end on 21st December 2012 (had been a great joke for me!).

So what will year 2013 be in stored for you?

Scrolling through Facebook, here are some resolution which I had found interesting posted by others;
1. to get rich, richer and more richer (I like this the most!!)
2. to learn Mandarin and expand my business to China (a resolution made by a Malay mate, inspiring me to take up a third language as well)
3. to travel to exotic places that her greenie can't be dragged along (some of you may be confused, but that greenie is actually a soft toy. A resolution made by my close friend. If only I have the cash to travel to exotic places.)

A new beginning is always great to look forward to as a motivation to kick start the year ahead. I am still in search for it... hopefully, all my resolution would be fullfilled. Nevertheless, end of Year 2013 is definitely something that I am looking forward to as I would be ...

Mind me for the mild posts in this blog. To be honest, starting this blog serves a purpose, which is to improve on my writing skills for my marketing profession.

So Cheers to 2013!
